Georgetown : At about 12:45pm today Robert Charles, 48 years, of Middle Walk, Victoria, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was attacked and robbed of $1M by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
The police in a statement says Charles was driving motor canter GSS 1177 and had stopped at the traffic light at Sheriff Street and Rupert Craig Highway, when the perpetrators drove up on a motor cycle. The pillion rider discharged a round shattering the windscreen and they relieved him of a haversack containing the cash and escaped.
Investigations are continuing.
