Man breaks into Judge’s home, says looking for scrap metal

arrest2Georgetown: Not being the best of places to burglarized, Otis Peters, 45, of ‘A’ field Sophia was accused of breaking into the home of Justice Brassington Reynolds and stole a complete window frame valued at $25,000.

Justice Brassington Reynolds is a high court Judge. Peters, a father of seven pleaded not guilty to the charge, when he stood before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court today.  The man had no legal counsel.

In offering an explanation of, Peters said he did break into the Judge’s home but was collecting scrap metal when the accusations were made. However, the Police Prosecutor objected to bail on the basis of the penalty attached to the offence. The defendant was then remanded to police custody until March 11.
