Lisa Punch to Perform at UK’s leading Children’s Charity Awards

LisaGeorgetown: Lisa Punch, Miss World-Guyana 2015, has been invited to perform at the Variety-the Children’s Charity International Awards, which is scheduled for April 28 to May 1, 2016.

Lisa Punch, Miss World-Guyana who stunned the judges at the 2015 Miss World in China with her astounding  performances is scheduled to grace the stage at the Variety  humanitarian award ceremony in Jersey, England in honour of Variety International  2016 Humanitarian Award recipient, Julia Morley –Chair of the Miss World Organization.

According to Variety International, Julia Morley embodies the definition of a humanitarian as “one who through aid or action saves lives, alleviates suffering, protects human dignity and advances social reform” and is a highly respected British business woman, former model and Chair of the Miss World Organisation.

Lisa said that she is thrilled to have been included in such a remarkable event. She added, “I'm very excited and honoured to be invited to such a prestigious award ceremony where Julia Morley will be receiving an award for her  outstanding work with Beauty with a purpose. I'm happy for her and I think no one is more deserving of such an award as Julia.”

Among the list of celebrities to perform is the famous boy band, the Jersey Boys.

Lisa will be traveling to England on Thursday to sing three of her original songs and three covers on Saturday, April 30.

Every year since 1938 Variety – the Children’s Charity International has presented their Humanitarian Award to a person who has shown selfless dedication in the support of humankind.

Julia’s success in business and the entertainment industry has provided a platform and profile to positively impact and transform the lives of people in need. In 1972 Julia coined the phrase “Beauty with a Purpose” to create a stage for young women around the world to use their talent and drive to help children, families and communities in need. The previous recipients of the award bares testament to the fact that it is recognized as one of the highest accolades that can be bestowed: Sir Winston Churchill, Dr Henry Kissinger, Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, Audrey Hepburn, Sammy Davis Jr, Jerry Lewis, Sir Roger Moore and Simon Cowell are notable among the names of past recipients.
