Joe Singh confirms appointment as Special Assistant to the President

Joe SinghGeorgetown: Former Chief of Staff of the Guyana Defence Force, retired Major General Joe Singh has confirmed his appointment as Special Assistant to the President of Guyana, as secrecy by the administration appears to be paramount. No announcements were made by the administration.  

This took effect from March 1, 2013.

“I am not affiliated to any political organisation in Guyana but I have access to all – hence my contributions, in my advisory role, are based on my professional training, experience and perspectives and have a national strategic planning and implementation focus…”   he noted.

Major General (Ret.) Joe Singh served in a number of key positions in both the public and private sector. He was Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission, Chief Executive Officer of the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company, Executive Director of Conservation International-Guyana and Chairman of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission.
