President Bharrat Jadeo yesterday took Guyana and West Indies batting star Shivnarine Chanderpaul around the Guyana National Stadium at Providence in support for a call to the West Indies Cricket Board for excluding Chanderpaul in the just concluded one day series against Pakistan.
Shiv known to be a quiet individual lashed out at the WICB and demanded an explanation from the chief executive Officer Ernest Hilaire, who had made general comments about the attitude of West Indian players over the past 15 years, following wholesale changes to the squad.
Unconfirmed reports stated that Shiv will be included in the Test series which will start later this week.
A picket exercise was also organized outside the stadium yesterday in support of Chanderpaul who says he has a lot more to offer West Indies Cricket.
