Immigration Officer charged with human trafficking

Bridgetown.

An Immigration Officer is the fourth person charged with the trafficking of five Guyanese women.

Ryan Jordan, 38 of Bagatelle, St Thomas  appeared in District A Magistrate's Court court on charges relating to human trafficking and misconduct in public office this morning and released on $5000 bail.

Last month, a 76 year old woman and two others were charged with offences associated with human trafficking.

Joan Alreata Fernandez, of Alkins Land, Eagle Hall was remanded to prison on three charges.

Prior to that, her alleged accomplices, 36 year old Amelia Joseph of Eagle Hall and 22 year old Keenon Chase of King William Street, Bridgetown, faced the court.

They were accused of committing a dozen offences including joint charges of managing a brothel and living on its earnings.
