Ice picker bandit shot by police

Georgetown : The police earlier today at about
2 am responded to a break and enter call at B’ field Sophia where a bandit was shot.
Investigations revealed that members of a police patrol responded to a report received that a man had broken into a house at ‘B Field, Sophia. Upon arrival at the scene the police called for the man to come out, but the man rushed towards the police with an object in his hand causing the police to resort to the use of force and he was shot.
The police recovered an ice pick and a screw driver from the unidentified man of African descent who was taken to the GPHC where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The body is at the Lyken Funeral Parlour.

Further investigations have disclosed that the owner of the home is presently hospitalised.
