Hospitalized bandit to assist police in investigation of failed armed robbery

Georgetown : An absent without leave (AWOL) army rank Kevin David is critical in the Georgetown Public Hospital under police guard after being severely beaten by residents of La Bonne Intention (LBI), East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Accding to the police, at around 1pm yesterday, Jasdai Persaud, 37 years, was at her home at Cherry Field, LBI, ECD, when two men rode up on a motor cycle, one of whom was armed with a firearm, and held her up.
The two were injured David and an accomplice Trelon Munroe.

The men demanded a bag with cash that had been withdrawn earlier in the day from a bank in the city, which was handed over.

As the men left the premises they were confronted by the victim’s husband, who retreated after a shot was discharged in his direction.

The perpetrators fled the scene on the motor cycle, but were pursued by a relative of the victim in a motor car, during which the perpetrators lost control of the motor cycle and fell.

Munroe was shot dead while David was hospitalized.

An unlicensed .32 revolver with 4 rounds and a spent shell, along with a quantity of the stolen cash have been recovered by the police.
