Lethem : The Ministry of Health disclosed that over 500 people benefited from medical services over the last weekend.
The medical services were done at the Lethem Hospital where 49 surgeries were done including hysterectomies, bilateral tubal ligation, orthopaedic and cholecystectomies. There were also135 ultra sounds and 48 eye screenings conducted.
The team comprised professionals from both the private and public health care system. These included Dr. Faucette Jeffery, Dr. Abdulla Amin, Dr. Monica Segala, Dr. Shivraj Bahadursingh and Dr. Rahul – a Cuban doctor.
The Regional Health Services (RHS) is the largest programme in the Ministry of Health and is accountable for over 400 health care facilities including health centres, health posts/huts and regional hospitals.
