Hindu organization received $1.4M to assist in building Mandir at Parfaith Harmonie

Georgetown : The Guyana Hindu Heritage Centre (GHHC), a local Hindu organization with its parent body located in Canada headed by Pandit Roopnauth Sharma, made a donation of $1.4MGD to Akshar Dhaam Ashram of 1835 Onderneeming Phase 2 West Bank Demerara.

Presenting the cheque on behalf of GHHC, Savitree Singh-Sharma said “the money is to assist in the construction phase of the mandir. The money will be paid to Toolsie Persaud Limited for construction materials.

Pandit Somnauth Sharma of Akshar Dhaam Ashram in receiving the kindly gesture said the Ashram thanked the GHHC for their contribution and explained that the newly built Mandir will be a land mark in the Parfaith Harmonie community to serve all with love.

The Pandit also suggested that he would like the GHHC to be its patron at the opening of the doors of the mandir.

The Guyana Hindu Heritage Centre's objective is to propagate the Hindu culture and religious philosophy within the Hindu community and to educate all Guyanese about the Hindu way of life. They seek to provide essential services to the community to address its social, economical, academic, health and wellness and cultural needs. To be a representative of the Hindu community on all cultural and religious issues. To partner with existing government services and other community institutions to address the general needs of the community and to promote harmony and respect for all cultures within the society.
