High Court denies move to stop major steelpan competition

Port-of-Spain: The High Court has just denied an application by a steel band to stop tomorrow's Panorama Finals.

BP Renegades had applied to the High Court to have the finals stopped, claiming that the semi-finals were conducted under conditions unfavourable to them because of loud deejay music nearby. The band did not make it into tomorrow's finals.

Justice Maureen Rajnath Lee ruled a short while ago in the Port-of-Spain High Court that the 2011 Panorama Finals will go on as planned after she dismissed the injunction filed by BP Renegades. The judge said she she was not satisfied  with the evidence BP Renegades presented.

The finals will take place at the Queen's Park Savannah.
