Health Ministry warns dengue cases increasing

Port-of-Spain: Almost 2 months into the rainy season, the Ministry of Health is reporting its very first dengue cases. Health Minister Dr Fuad Khan was briefed on Friday that there were several persons in the Trincity area who tested positive for the virus.

He was unable to say however, how many persons were infected.

Earlier this week Port of Spain Mayor Louis Lee Sing also revealed that his City Corporation received several reports of dengue cases in the Port-of-Spain area.

The Minister is urging citizens to contact insect vector control at 663-2281 or 663-2286 to have their areas sprayed.
