Guyanese urged to use Home Affairs Ministry’s “Ipaid a Bribe” website

Georgetown : The Ministry of Home Affairs utilizing technology has launched the “Ipaid a Bribe” website o enable people o provide information in relation to the payment of a bribe for public services rendered at any public office/agency under the purview of the Ministry.

Moreover, the website allows a person to provide the information on the basis of anonymity.

Additionally, new and innovative approaches have been introduced to make more effective and efficient, the reporting system. These include: the Electronic Crime Reporting System using BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) application, and Facebook.

To date, these systems have reached over 260,000 cell phone users across the country and the Ministry is calling on more Guyanese to make full use of these initiatives.
