Prime Minister Samuel Hinds has announced that the Guyanese nation at large faces an impending electricity tariff increase.
Hinds, was at the time yesterday defending a $1B Supplementary request which was being debated in the Parliament for the Guyana Power and Light Company (GPL).
According to Hinds the company has been holding off any tariff increases for the past four years, but prevailing situations would force the company to increase its tariff.
He did not announce when such an increase would take effect
