Georgetown : Guyana’s Ambassador to Venezuela, Cheryl Miles has been formally been accredited by that country’s Government. The ceremony occurred on February 17, several months after she was appointed by the Coalition Government of Guyana.

Ambassador Miles was identified for the post, in November 2015.

Foreign Affairs Minister, Carl Greenidge announced today during the examination of the Budget estimates that, “As of yesterday (Wednesday), she presented her credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela (Delcy Rodriguez). That fulfills an obligation that President Maduro had given in November last year.”

Guyana’s Foreign Affairs Minister told the National Assembly that the accreditation had taken place as he responded to questions from Opposition Chief Whip, Gail Teixeira.
