Region Nine : The Officer in Charge of the Lethem Police Station, the Regional Chairman and officials of the regional administration, Region Nine and members of the public and private sectors, recently held a meeting with a delegation from Bon Fin, State of Roraima, Brazil. This delegation was headed by the Mayor of Bon Fin.
The main purpose of the meeting was to forge closer cross-border cooperation.
Issues that fall under the purview of the Guyana Police Force that were discussed at that meeting included: the improvement of the relationships between members of the force and their counterparts in the State of Roraima, and the intensification of actions to address trafficking in contraband, a Home Affairs Ministry press release stated.
