Guyana Police force invites NYPD officers for historic function at Officers Mess

Georgetown : Over the weekend, the Commissioner of Police Seelall Persaud, DSM and team on behalf of the Guyana Police Force invited the visiting members of the New York Police Department to be guests of honor at the Police Officers Mess, Eve Leary.

The reception was organized by the hierarchy of the Force and was described as an historic event since it was the first time such a function was held at the Officers Mess for ranks of the New York Police Department.

Welcome and opening remarks were made by the President of the Mess Committee who is also Commander ‘A’ Division, Assistant Commissioner Clifton Hicken. The Commissioner of Police, Seelall Persaud, DSM also gave a brief speech and conveyed the condolences of the Guyana Police Force to the visiting ranks for their fallen hero.

The occasion was graced by the presence of the Honourable Minister of Public Security Mr. Khemraj Ramjattan. The N.Y.P.D officers, most of whom have Guyanese roots, were extremely appreciative to the Guyana Police Force for such an event, which saw the Police String Band performing to its best.
