Guyana Chronicle launches interactive, educational website

Georgetown : The Guyana Chronicle today launched a new website with a highly interactive user friendly feature targeting the school-age population to stimulate the mind and encourage meaningful involvement.

“The Mastermind Quiz Corner” is an online educational tool that takes the form of a game strategically designed to enhance performance of students at the National Grade Six Examination.
There are over 2000 multiple choice questions and answers in english mathematics, integrated science social studies and common knowledge categories.

Questions are presented in a random fashion with a time limit for an answer to be submitted. Points are accumulated and presented on the homepage of the site and the performance profile of each player and their score is recorded for each subject area.

The initiative is the brainchild of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Guyana Chronicle Keith Burrowes who joined President Bharrat Jagdeo, staff the newspaper and primary school students at the National Grade Six Assessment level for the launch at State House. Minister of Education Shaik Baksh was also present.
While commending the newspaper for the initiative President Jagdeo also called for the adult population to also be included on the roster of participants, confident that they too will find it interesting.
