Guyana, Chile agree to expand bilateral cooperation

ChileGeorgetown:Guyana and Chile will be pursuing cooperation in agriculture, capacity building, mining, language training and trade related matters.

This follows a meeting between Foreign Affairs Minister, Carolyn Rodrigues Birkett and a delegation from the Chilean International Cooperation Agency, headed by Ambassador, Luis Fernando Ayala.

The meeting was aimed at reviewing the current programme of cooperation between Guyana and Chile and addressing possible new areas for the 2014-2016 period.

Guyana and Chile also reiterated their \commitment to continuing collaboration within the Caricom-Chile mechanism and UNASUR to consolidate regional integration initiatives and support the sustained development of Latin American and Caribbean countries.
