Guyana Annual magazine inviting submissions

Georgetown: The 2013-2014 issue of The Guyana Annual magazine is going into production and its Editor Petamber Persaud is encouraging submissions from local writers.

According to a release, the main feature of this issue will be on AJ Seymour, whose birth centenary (January 12, 2014) was celebrated with a number of significant activities.

This issue will also focus on the increased interest in photography, the expanding arenas for cultural activities, and what is happening in the diaspora (Guy-Aspora).

The Annual will continue championing the cause of locally based emerging writers and of Guyanese writers in general, offering space and encouragement for their works.

“We are inviting the submissions of unpublished works of poetry, short fiction, and writings for children. General articles of interest will be considered for publication,” the release said.

The magazine was launched in December 1915 under the title “Chronicle Christmas Annual”.
