East Coast Demerara : Just after 2 a.m today, Mark Kandai who operates a Grocery and beer shop at Industry Line Top was shot several times by an unmasked man who approached the shop counter and asked for an item. According to the dead man’s wife, her husband and the father of her six children was shot several times and it was not a robbery motive since nothing was taken.
She claimed that six persons were there drinking beers when the shooting occurred and the gunman left in a waiting car. She disclosed that the entire episode was captured on a video tape where a camera was set up taking images of the counter of the shop where the 32 year old man was hot.
The police was given a copy of the tape to assist in their investigation. According to a family member, the gunman was clearly photographed on the video tape and hope the gunman will be brought to justice.
