Government to tackle livestock disease

Georgetown : At its March 12th statutory meeting, Cabinet gave its no objection to one contract valued US$541,766 for the supply, delivery and testing of field supplies for the Guyana Livestock Development Authority (GLDA).

The equipment will be used for the eradication campaign for tuberculosis, brucellosis and rabies.

The GLDA is the lead agency under the Ministry of Agriculture charged with developing the local livestock sector and was established as a semi-autonomous body on September 1, 2010.
