Giftland signs MOU with Churches, Mario’s Pizza and Quiznos

Georgetown: Giftland Office Max signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Giftland Mall, Churches, Mario’s Pizza and Quiznos Wednesday morning.  

All agreements will be renewable annually between companies.

The event was held at the Georgetown Club, 208 Camp Street, South Cummingsburg, Georgetown.

The multi-billion dollar mega-mall will be constructed at Liliendaal, East Coast of Demerara (ECD),
and the venture is being financed through support from Commercial Banks as well as ‘two private investors.’

The event was attended by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Camex Restaurant Inc., Director of finance at Camex Inc. Christine Bennett Blair, CEO of Giftland Office Max Ian Ramdeo, and President of Giftland Office Max Roy Beepat.

The mall will include over 140 specialty stores, a modern interior design with a nine 20 feet aquariums, spacious wide walkways and convient seating areas with six escalators ad four elevators, famous restaurant franchise and food court with over 20 local and international cuisine choices, secure parking for over 600cars, bus terminal and valvet parking. Services such as ATM for all banks, beauty salons, and barbershops, spas, postal and bill payment services, over 2000 job opportunities, and expansion plans include more shops and entertainment, supermarket and a multi-level car park.

The mall is going to be the largest shopping mall in Guyana with over 170,000 square feet of obsolute excitement.  

President of Giftland Office Max Roy Beepat said a 500 feet strip has been added to the mall which will feature a sports bar, restaurants, cafes, cocktail bars which will be an evening entertainment feature. However, this may extend the construction date slightly. “We are trying to create the experience that when you come to the mall, there will be an experience for everyone.”

The 10 acre plot of land was acquired by the Giftland Office Max owner in 2007, through the Guyana Office for Investment (GO-Invest) but construction did not commence until 2009.

Once completed, it is expected to boast eight state-of-the-art movie theatres, a 12 lane bowling alley, pool halls, jumbo aquariums, sunlight ceiling, dozens of first class dining facilities and shopping centers among other amenities and luxuries.
