Giftland assist less fortunate with school hampers

IMG_5010Georgetown: Giftland Office Max, Water Street, Georgetown Sunday presented residents of Tiger Bay with modeling dough, tody crayons, paint sets, exercise books for the nursery package. Studmark pencils, pencil sharpeners, exercise books, backpack s for the primary package. Mean while, five star trapper keepers, exercise books, studmark ball pens, studmark hb pencils with studmark erasers to create the secondary package as part of their charitable drive.

Giftland Public Relation Manager, Compton Babb, told the media that more than 150 back packs containing school supplies will be handed out to school children.

He said during a census conducted recently in Tiger Bay they visited 65 homes as compared to last year of 130.
It was decided that all the funds from the Giftland’s 3rd annual Talent show will be donated to charity to better meet the needs of the community in which Giftland is located (Tiger Bay).

Jade Beepat, the Human Resource Director of Giftland said it’s in an effort to create a harmonious relationship among co-workers, that  she came up with the idea of a talent night to be a fund raising activity and charity event.

Performances were done by: Kross Kolors – Ossie O, Nothing to laugh about Crew: Radica, Maria Benschop & Lyndon Jumbie Jones, Crystallite and Classique dance group, Michelle “Big Red” King, Randolph Cricthlow, Gialiani, Leon Cummings, and of course the Giftland staff. The talent night was held on April 13-14 at the Theater Guild.

This event was a star studded promotion all in aid of a good cause – improving the Tiger Bay community.

Present at the giveaway was Local Recording Artiste Michelle King along side two of Giftland’s  Ambassadors Devon Davis (Mr.Giftland Man of Steel)  and Alisha Fortune (Track and Field Champion / Bodybuilding Champion).IMG_4991
