Georgetown : Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany His Excellency Dr. Lutz Gorgens today paid a courtesy call on the Leader of the Opposition Brigadier David A. Granger. The Ambassador was accompanied by Dr. Rudiger Lotz, Director for Caribbean and Central American Affairs at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin.
The Opposition Leader welcomed Dr. Gorgens and Dr. Lotz to Guyana and briefed the German Diplomats on the current political climate in the country.
During what can be described as a very amicable meeting a number of issues were raised pertaining to the economy, sustainable energy and local democracy.
Brigadier Granger was accompanied to the meeting by Mr. Joseph Harmon, General Secretary, A Partnership for National Unity-APNU, Mr. Winston Felix, APNU Shadow Minister Public Security and Mr. Mark Archer, Director of Communication- APNU.
