Georgetown under water

Georgetown : The persistent heavy rains this morning left several sections of the capital city Georgetown under flood waters. The Ministry of Education was forced to declare that schools in the city, East and West bank of Demerara and along the East Coast cancel for the day.

The commercial areas Regent, Camp and water street businesses were also closed as the water rise to some door levels.

There is a heavy build up of traffic in and around Georgetown. Some cars miss average the roads and ran into trenches.
