Georgetown: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Donald Ramotar has approved the promotion of Chief-of-Staff of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Commodore Gary Best to the rank of Rear Admiral.
The swearing in ceremony will take place on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Office of the President.
A Rear Admiral is a naval commissioned officer rank above that of a Commodore.
