GCB congratulates Cameron and Nanthan

imagesGeorgetown : The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) extends congratulations to Mr. Wycliffe “Dave” Cameron and Mr. Emmanuel Nathan who were elected President and Vice President of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) on March 27, 2013 in Barbados.

The Territorial Board welcomes Cameron to the prestigious post and is eager to work with him in the development of cricket in the West Indies. The WICB is the oldest existing entity in the West Indies, after being formed in the 1920s, that still unites the Caribbean people. Mr. Cameron and his deputy Nanthan continue a tradition of the honorable gentlemen that have led this unique ICC Member nation, the West Indies, in the past and we are assured they will both make us proud.

The GCB is also supportive of Nathan who is also the President of WICBC and the Dominica Cricket Association. We believe that the 45 year old is competent and the most suitable partner for Cameron.

The GCB wishes the new administration every success and pledges its support, hoping that the administration will work hand-in-hand with the various Territorial Boards in the West Indies to take cricket forward.

The GCB wishes to bid Dr. Julian Hunte farewell, noting that he has done an outstanding job during his tenure to rebuild West Indies Cricket.
