Garner re-elected president of the BCA

Former Barbados and West Indies fast bowler Joel Garner was re-elected president of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA), at the BCA's annual general meeting last night.

Garner defeated his former 1st vice president Conde Riley by a comfortable 45-vote margin, 166 to 121.

Former acting Chief Executive Officer of the BCA  Deighton Smith is the new first vice president.

Garner and Smith were also elected as the two directors to serve on the West Indies Cricket Board.

In other results, Maurice Gaskin was returned to the 3rd vice president's post, convincingly beating Patricia Greenidge 171 to 77.

Wendell Kellman was returned unopposed for 2nd VP; Anthea Ishmael was unopposed for honorary secretary after Nicholls withdrew from that race as well; while Jason King was unopposed for honorary treasurer.

The board members elected were Hartley Reid, Ikins Clarke, Kamal Springer and Roland Butcher, while the two executive members who will represent the BCA at the WICB's AGM are Gaskin and Kellman.
