Friday the 13th disaster-10 homeless after fire destroys Kitty house

Georgetown : A senior citizen is among 10 persons homeless after fire gutted the upper flat of a wooden building at William Street Kitty.

According to one of the occupant of the home Lennox Ford, his 78 year old mother known as Nellie, was at home along with three of his nephews when he received a message their house was on fire.

The senior citizen still in  a state of shock told TrakkerNews, she was in the kitchen sitting with a visitor when they saw smoke coming from the back bed room.

She said after rushing into the room, her grand children ran out and the mattress was in a blaze.

She said it took her some time before she made sure everyone was out of the house and within minutes the entire upper flat was destroyed. She speculated in tears that the childrem may have been playing with matches on the bed.

By the time the firemen arrive the fire spread to a neighbouring house and scorched an entire one side.
