Four charged after failing breathalyzer tests

Georgetown : The following persons have been charged by the police and found guilty by the courts for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Hafeez Persuad

Hafeez Persaud, 28 years, of Sheet Anchor, East Canje, Berbice, was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on 2014-11-27 while driving motor car HC 4429 on the Sheet Anchor Public Road. He was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. He was charged and appeared at the New Amsterdam Magistrate Court on 2014-12-01 where he pleaded ‘guilty’ and was fined $7,500.00.

Ruel Jagroo

Ruel Jagroo, 25 years, of Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on 2014-11-27 while driving motor car PSS 7332 on the Sheet Anchor Public Road, East Canje, Berbice. He was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. He was charged and appeared at the New Amsterdam Magistrate Court on 2014-12-01 where he pleaded ‘guilty’ and was fined $7,500.00.

Jaipersaud Lallbeharry

Jaipersaud Lallbeharry, 34 years, of Adelphi, East Canje, Berbice, was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on 2014-12-02 while driving motor car HB 785 on the Cumberland Public Road, East Canje, Berbice. He was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. He was charged and appeared at the New Amsterdam Magistrate Court on 2014-12-04 where he pleaded ‘guilty’ and was fined $7,500.00.

Kennard Basdeo, 20 years, of Anna Catherina, WCD, was stopped and tested with a breathalyzer on 2014-12-03 while driving motor car PKK 1729 on the Leonora Public Road, WCD. He was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. He was charged and appeared at the Leonora Magistrate Court on 2014-12-04 where he pleaded ‘guilty’ and was fined $7,500.00.
