Georgetown : Former President Bharrat Jagdeo urged the FAO's Committee on orests (COFO) to play a more active role in the implementation of the the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals related to rests and food security . He asserted that COFO being the largest repository of knowledge in the world on forests must be involved in the design f forest mitigation initiatives and the intermediation of climate funds . He was speaking as the Chairman of the opening ceremony of the Fifth orld orest Week in Rome , Italy .The other speakers at the event included His Royal Highness Prince Laurent of Belgium , Mr Vidar Helgesen Minister or Climate and Environment of Norway , Dr Hoesung Lee , Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change , Mr Rafael Pacchiano laman , Minister for Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico and Mr Jose Graziano da Silva , Director- General of FAO.
