Berbice : A 32-year-old fisherman of Crabwood Creek has been taken into custody for the murder of another fisherman Sahadeo Sankar, 40 years, of no fixed place of abode but hailed from the Corentyne District. An investigation revealed that the victim and suspect who were said to be friends were imbibing when an argument ensued. During the altercation, the victim allegedly injured the suspect with a knife, who in retaliation physically assaulted the victim who subsequently died.
The suspect has since confessed to the crime which has been recorded on a nearby Close Circuit Television (CCTV) camera. The body is presently at Skeldon Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination.
