Fire victims assisted with packages

GRCGeorgetown: The Guyana Relief Council (GRC) has assisted 33 victims of fire and high winds during the first half of the year.

The GRC in a release said the families were offered temporary residence at the GRC shelter, but they all opted to stay with family members for moral support.

The Council assisted them with relief packages consisting of groceries, mattresses, hygiene items, kitchen utensils, clothing and toiletries.

Monthly care-packages were issued to four families in difficult circumstances.

The families are Milton Alli (family of seven) of Friendship, East Bank Demerara; Savitri Williams (family of five) of Tuschen Housing Scheme; Amanda Anthony (family of two) of Hope, East Coast Demerara; and Roxanne Winfield (family of four) of Melanie Damishana, East Coast Demerara.
