Fire officers appointed

Bridgetown.

The Barbados Fire Service has a full complement of senior officers for the first time in five years, with the recent appointment of several firemen to top management positions. These includes two new divisional officers, four station officers and a executive officer.

Acting Fire Officer Errol Maynard expressed his concerns over the lenght of time fire officers acted in positions before they are appointed.

He told journalists there are still a number of  supervisory positions to be filled including the apointments of 14 sub officers and 20 leading fronts officers.

According to Maynard,  although the firemen have been in acting positions for a long period of time, their morale was not affected.

He was speaking at a press conference at the Probyn Street, Bridgetown Headquarters of the Barbados Fire Service, to announce the appointment of the newly promoted officers.
