Fire flattens Bartica house

Bartica: Residents of Bartica were awoken by a fiery blaze early this morning which completely destroyed the 28th Fifth Avenue home of Oswald Fisher. No one was at home at the time of the conflagration that was described by one resident as a “massive blaze.”

Reports are that the fire commenced around 01:00hrs and lasted until around 02:30hrs by which time the ablaze-structure was completely flattened. This was despite the prompt response by the Bartica Fire Service. However even as the fire service battle to combat the fire the water being used for this purpose was soon depleted.

Fisher, who is said to have a business in the Arcade, had left for the interior yesterday and his wife reportedly left the home to stay at relatives until his return. The property is however, said to be owned by one James Bradford.
