Fire destroys Regent Street Businesses

 

Georgetown : Early morning fire gutted the Dalip General store building at the corner of Regent and Wellington streets. The fire of unknown origin started minutes after 5:00am and destroy about four different businesses which are housed in the building.

When TrakkerNews arrive on the scent, Firemen were working feverishly to contain the fire from spreading to the next building. One of the affected businessman said the losses so far would be millions of dollars. The business people who suffer losses were unable to save anything from the building.

The buildings along Regent Street, one of the largest commercial areas in the capital of Guyana, Georgetown, are very close to each other where fire can easily spread if not contained.
