Estimates expected to be laid in Parliament today

Bridgetown.

The annual Appropriations Bill which determines how much and where Govenment finances will be allocated in the financial year will be laid in the House of Assembly by Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler today.

This sitting of the House of Assembly will be first since the Democratic Labour Party led by Freundel Suart was re-elected to office following a close polls in the February 21 general elections.

Last week, Sinckler indicated that all the legwork required to compete the Estimates had been finalised behind the scenes, leaving only a few matters to be sorted out by he and the Prime Minister.

Once the Estimates are laid in the Lower Chamber, members of Parliament will debate the Appropriations Bill on March 18.cinkler
