Essequibo: Joyln Benn, 44, of Lima Dam, Essequibo Coast was freed of a manslaughter charge in the Suddie High Court by Justice Nareshwar Harnanan on Monday.
The jury made a unanimous verdict of not guilty.
The state Prosecutor was represented by Diana Kowleshwar, while the defense attorney was named as Latchmie Dindyal.
Benn was initially charged with manslaughter in 2010 for the allege murder of her paramour, Dennis Braithwaite, on the 25th December,2010,at Lima, Essequibo Coast.
Reports disclosed that Benn on Christmas Day 2010 was entertaining her friends at her Lima Dam residence when an argument ensued between herself and the late Brathwaite.
After a scuffle Benn reached for a knife and inflicted a single stab wound to Braithwaite heart. She was pronounced dead from shock and hemorrhage after a Post Mortem examination was performed by Dr. Bridgemohan.
