Georgetown : The Police are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of pedal cyclist Wayne Giddings, 29 years, of Sparendaam, East Coast Demarara (ECD), who was struck down by a motor vehicle along the Goedverwagting Railway Embankment, ECD, at about. 9:30am today.
Investigations have revealed that Wayne Giddings allegedly rode out from behind a mini-bus and into the path of the oncoming motor vehicle and was struck down.
Wayne Giddings got up and ran away from the scene and the driver made a report to the police at Sparendaam Police Station.
Ranks went to the scene and following investigations made Wayne Giddings was found lying on a street in Goedverwagting. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
