DLP manifesto is realistic say Prime Minister

Bridgetown.

The manifesto of the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) is well thought out and has the capacity to ensure the political, social, economic and environmental liberation of Barbadians.

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart, told a large crowd  who gather in the National Cultural Foundation carpark for the launch of the DLP's manifesto last night.

"This manifesto that we present to you tonight does not call on you to walk by faith, it calls on you to walk by sight, because you have seen how the Democratic Labour Party has performed between January 2008 and the present. We want to create a Barbados that is socially balance, economically viable, environmentaly sound and in which there is good and honest governance, so Dems now, Dems again," Stuart told the cheering crowd.

Stuart said the manifesto outlines the DLP vision in relation to  the restructuring of the energy sector, converting it from a loopsided dependance on fossil fuel to the use of more renewable sources of energy.  The 56 page document also touched on the aged, the disabled farming and health.
