Ten more members of the Central Executive will be co-opted five by the Party Leader and five by the Central Executive Committee respectively and this is likely to be done when the Executive holds its first formal meeting. Each of the Regions is entitled to elect one representative to sit on this body, the highest authority of the Party after the General Council which meets quarterly.

After the results were declared, the newly elected Leader of the PNCR Brigadier David Granger made reference to Ecclesiastes 3, “A time for everything…” he told the Delegates and Observers that this is a time for building and a time for embracing. He noted that there is much work to be done.

The Leader thanked Mr. Robert Corbin for:

  1. His years of stewardship as Party Leader.
  2. Deciding not to run as the Presidential Candidate in the last elections.
  3. For initiating the Primaries.
  4. The formation of APNU.

He further indicated that as a result of Mr. Corbin’s work, we now have the Chairmanship of APNU, the Leader of the Opposition and now the Leader of the PNCR.

He thanked all those who worked assiduously to make this Congress a success and invited Mr. Carl Greenidge to join him in efforts to strengthen the unity of the Party. The PNC held their 17th Biennial Congress over the weekend.
