CXC results expected by August 10

Georgetown : Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand announced that she is anticipating the results for the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) by August 10.
Minister Manickchand expressed optimism that the country will see the same trajectory that been occurring over the years, and that is the country’s children excelling.

The minister said that it is also expected that not only the top schools in Georgetown will see great results, but others throughout the country as well.

Within the last decade, Guyana has been consistently winning awards from CXC because of the excellent performance of its students.

In 2013, the country copped five of the eight regional CXC awards offered. This is as a result of the high level of investments and equity of resources by Government into the education sector.

The 2013 top performers were: Yogeeta Persaud-Anna Regina Secondary School, Overall Outstanding Achievement; Rafena Mustapha – Saraswati Vidya Niketan, Most Outstanding in Humanities; Cecil Cox – Queen’s College, Most Outstanding in Sciences; Sasha Woodroffe – Queen’s College, Most Outstanding in Business Studies; and Zimeena A Rasheed – Anna Regina Secondary School, Most Outstanding in Technical Vocational.
