CXC, CAPE results released

CXCGeorgetown: The Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) will be releasing their Caribbean Advanced proficiency Examination (CAPE) results on August 9, and on Tuesday, August 11, persons who sat the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) will be able to access their grades on http://ors.cxc.org/studentportal. All of the results will be released at 22:00h on the respective days.

Guyanese students have been performing exceptionally well at these examinations over the years, having produced the top student for the past few years. Only last year, were three Guyanese girls and one boy were awarded for their performance at CSEC. They were Elisa Hamilton, Aliyyah Abdul Kadir, and Ryhan Chand of Queens College, and Kishan Critchlow of New Amsterdam Multilateral School.

In 2013, Guyana won five of the eight awards offered. The winners were Yogeeta Persaud from Anna Regina Secondary School, Overall Outstanding Achievement; Rafena Mustapha of Saraswati Vidya Niketan, Most Outstanding in Humanities; Cecil Cox of Queen’s College, Most Outstanding in Sciences; Sasha Woodroffe of Queen’s College, Most Outstanding in Business Studies; and Zimeena Rasheed of Anna Regina Secondary School, Most Outstanding in Technical Vocational.

According to the official CXC website, “On Friday, August 14, the island will play host to an official ceremony to announce the results of its examinations – CPEA, CCSLC, CVQ, CSEC and CAPE.

The Results Ceremony will be held at CXC’s new headquarters, Prince Road, Pine Plantation Road, St Michael, Barbados from 10:30h.”
