CXC Awardees thrilled by majestic Kaieteur Falls

Georgetown : The visiting Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) regional top performers and their Guyanese counterparts were thrilled by the experience of visiting the majestic Kaieteur Falls on Tuesday, as well as several other scenic locations in Guyana. Eleven of the region’s brightest students and the five from Guyana who topped the Caribbean are being hosted at the Pegasus Hotel, as part of the activities for CXC’s governance meetings and awards ceremony being held this week.

In addition to Kaieteur Falls, they also visited the Baganara Island Resort and toured Fort Island and Parika.

The students were accompanied by CXC officials and personnel from the Ministry of Education.

On Wednesday, the Regional Top Awardees, and a CXC delegation will pay courtesy calls on President Donald Ramotar, Prime Minister Samuel Hinds, Prime Minister of Guyana, Minister of Education Priya Manickchand and Opposition Leader Brigadier (retired) David Granger.

The meeting of the School Examinations Committee (SEC) will be held on Thursday December 5 as well as the awards ceremony. The 45th meeting of Council, CXC’s highest decision-making body, will be held on Friday December 6.
