Commissioner’s of Police case adjourned

Bridgetown.

The interim injunction filed by Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin against the Police Service Commission (PSC), was adjourned when it was heard before Justice Margaret Reifer in her chambers yesterday.

Lawyers representing the embattled top cop were in the No. 9 Supreme Court for less than half an hour yesterday, in their bid to have Dottin taken off administrative leave and return to work.

Their application for an interim injunction before Justice Margaret Reifer in chambers was adjourned until next Tuesday, without negotiations getting off the ground.

On June 17, Dottin received a letter signed by the chairman of the PCS Guyson Mayers informing him that he was being retired from the office of Commissioner in the public interest.

His legal team led by Elliott Mottley, QC and Leslie Haynes, QC have charged that the letter is invalid and ineffectual.
