COI into Linden shooting to resume in two weeks

Georgetown: The Commission of Inquiry (COI) into the Linden shootings is expected to resume on the last Monday of January 2013.

The commission has not finish all the testimonies based on compensation and this has to be finalized into the report.

Commissioners of the inquiry are Justice Lensley Wolfe O.J., Mr. K.D. Knight S.C and Ms. Dana Seetahal S.C along with Guyana’s former Court of Appeal Judge, Claudette Singh, CCH.

Attorney at Law Peter Hugh represents the Guyana Police Force at the Linden Commission of Inquiry. Attorney at law Nigel Hughes represents the families of the decease.  

The Commission was constituted to investigate the circumstances under the shootings at the Mackenzie Bridge in Linden, on July, 18th, 2012 where three persons lost their lives in protest over proposed electricity tariff hikes.
