Georgetown : Humbert Pilgrim Oronoque Street, Queenstown, Georgetown, appeared in court yesterday before Acting Chief Magistrate Ms. Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on a charge of trafficking in narcotics.
He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four years imprisonment and fined $30,000.00.
The 28 year old Pilgrim was intercepted by police narcotics ranks at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport on June 8th, 2011, where a total of 1kg. 136 grams of cocaine were found in his possession. He had ingested a portion of the drugs.
