Chinese business couple beaten, robbed

Georgetown: Six armed bandits descended and brutalized a Chinese business couple at their home at Garden of Eden, East Bank Demerara on Monday night robbing them of their Toyota vehicle BSS 5412, jewelry and valuables.

Reports indicate that the robbers also stole a quantity of undisclosed cash, fish glue, and a quantity of gold and silver.

Enquiries revealed that the six armed bandits entered the two storey concrete home at the southern access door on the lower flat.

The men barged in and held the couple at gunpoint demanding cash and jewelry. The bandits then began to beat the couple in their heads while ransacking the home. After the men grabbed all the valuables, they seized the couple’s vehicle which they used to flee the scene. No shots were fired.

The victims were escorted to the East Demerara Regional Hospital for medical attention where they were treated and sent away. The robbery was reported to the Police Station as investigations continue.
