CHINA HARBOUR supports Children’s Mashramani Competition

CHECGEORGETOWN:  China Harbour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC) recently handed over a cheque for Two Hundred and Twenty Thousand dollars ($220,000) to the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport to support this year’s Mash Children’s Art and Essay Competitions.

CHEC’s CJIA Project Manager Kevin Liu, in making the presentation to Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Dr. Frank Anthony, said that “… while CHEC is here to develop physical infrastructure the company recognises that the development of people is the most enduring investment.”

The support provided by CHEC will be used for cash prizes for the winner of one category of the National Essay Writing Competition and for the first, second and third place winners of the 16-17 age group category of the Child Art competition.

Dr. Frank Anthony, after receiving the cheque, thanked CHEC for coming on board and encouraged the company to play an even bigger role in MASH 2015. Dr. Anthony said “… we are working hard to preserve our culture and to ensure that our children understand their cultural heritage so that they too can pass it on, and CHEC support certainly helps with this.”

Also present at the simple handing over ceremony were Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport Alfred King and Public Relations Consultant for CHEC, Alex Graham.

All prizes for the Mashramani competitions will be awarded at a Prize Giving ceremony to be held in March.
